Principalship can be a lonely job
There are many networks for principals to engage in, where they can meet other principals, pick up new ideas and find out what is new in the world of education. But where can a principal go to seek support on sensitive matters that they can not discuss with their boards, councils and their executive teams? Friends and family offer loving support, but they do not have the professional experience to meaningfully and effectively mentor an experienced school principal.
Laurus has filled this gap with the Principals' Roundtables concept
Commencing in 2018, we will provide a high trust professional development environment for 10 experienced school principals to meet and engage in robust discussion about matters affecting their leadership. We carefully place principals into roundtable groups to guarantee 'no conflict of interest' exists between them. This ensures each principal is completely safe to fully disclose an issue affecting their leadership, and it can be openly discussed without fear of judgement or threat.
Principals control their own agenda
Whilst we ensure the integrity of the roundtable meeting, the members determine what is discussed. Whether it is a challenge a principal is facing with governance, strategy, executive team development, establishing a point of difference for their school or dealing with the dreaded EBA, there are no limitations to what can be discussed. Each principal has the support of nine other principals with at least 200 years of school leadership experience to offer.
